Course Objectives:

Improve technical and scientific knowledge of the use of non-invasive neuromodulation techniques in the treatment of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism spectrum disorder.

Target audience:

Physiotherapists, Doctors, Speech Therapists and those interested in the area (with training in the broad area of health).

Requirements for Participation:

Graduated health professionals who have already completed basic training in neuromodulation, in accordance with the requirements of the Councils of each professional category

Online

Synchronous classes, discussions of clinical cases and provision of the recording link for 30 days.

Course Methodology:

• Online classes: using audiovisual resources

  • Neuroscience of ADHD: contextualization, neural bases and possible targets for neuromodulation;
  • Neuroscience of ASD: contextualization, neural bases and possible targets for neuromodulation;
  • Electrical and magnetic stimulation of the nervous system in ASD and ADHD;
  • Vagal stimulation in ASD and ADHD;
  • Transcranial photobiomodulation in ASD and ADHD;
  • Ethics, safety and clinical practice;
  • Clinical reasoning and decision making for choosing protocols in children;
  • Clinical cases.

Course evaluation:

At the end of the course, students who complete the final assessment and achieve a score of 70% or higher will receive a certificate for the respective short course.
